Friday

So we finalized the color today...it's called serene. Just another thing that needed to be done. We talked about food too. Still have to finalize what we want, and figure out where we are getting some if it, and who is making what. I have great friends (more like family) who have volunteered to help. I love them!

We've also been talking about the books Curt has asked us to read. One is The Five Love Languages. Then we have For Women Only and For Men Only. We'd actually talked about the love languages one soon after we started dating....Jeff had read part of it, and we just discussed it a bit. I just finished it a couple of days ago, and he's going to reread it. The gender only books are quite interesting. Jeff thinks they should be required reading starting at 9 and then everyone read them again every few years...just for relationships in general. He's about 75 pages in his, and I'm a bit over 50. I'm anxious to read more. The chapter I just finished was about respect. Apparently to some men reminders are sometimes interpreted as disrespect...I tend to remind Jeff to take his vitamins. So I asked if he ever considered that disrespectful...no he didn't. So we're good in that category. Jeff discovered that women have 20 thoughts running in their head at all times...that we can't shut off the thinking....those to-do list, the deep thinking, the daydreaming, etc. I confirmed this notion--at least for me. In fact just last week we were talking about different things, and something I needed to do (submit a resume) that I kept putting off because wedding stuff kept coming up....and then when it wasn't that it was work stuff. Anyway, he told me to just put it aside for a couple of days. First, it took me like 20 minutes to do the cover letter and complete the application so a couple of days was an overestimate, but I told him...I can't not think about it. The wedding is one of those things that's forefront in my mind. Not that I'm obsessing over each detail, just that I'm--we're--trying to get what we can done as quickly as possible. Second, some things we just have to do now since it's only four and a half months away...but it'll be nice to have things figured out, so we don't have to fret about things last minute. Anyway, he sort of realizes now that my brain has a hard time shutting something like that off, and I understand that his can zone out. We are enjoying discussing the books...and can't wait to talk to Curt about it.

Have a great weekend. We have a bit of shopping to do tomorrow...decorations, detail stuff.
