To-do lists

I'm a big fan of to-do lists. I seem to always have one in front of my keyboard. I just completed one that was sitting in front of my computer in CF. There's one (actually two) in front of the Mac at Jeff's house. One is things to do in preparation of the wedding, and the other is a personal to-do list for me to do a couple of things for the Lake Russell VBS, which is coming up the last week of July. Before he'd officially proposed, right after we'd decided that we'd set the date in November my mind began to race as to the to-dos that a wedding holds. Having had many friends who'd had weddings not too far back I remember some of the tasks associated with that day, but I still wanted a firmer plan. Being a wedding photographer I've seen brides who kept orderly three-ring binders, and those who just had it all in their mind...I always knew I would be one like the former. So the day after the proposal we went to Barnes and Noble so I could find wedding books. As a devoted fan of Martha Stewart, I'd watched her shows on weddings, and knew of her wedding books with planning checklist included. I certainly thought I'd end up with one of these, but after a little perusing I discovered a lot of the info included in her book didn't interest me, and as far as the planner was concerned I could just buy the wedding magazine and get that. I ended that trip with a magazine or two, but no planner. I had the idea of using the Martha checklist from the magazine, and a good old three ring binder from Target, and making my own. So that evening I went out to find my stuff. I thought binder (of course), calendar, dividers, cover sheets, etc...quite a list, but I discovered when I got to Target they have a lovely planner all ready to go. I think it was about $16, which would have been cheaper than all the stuff I had on that list. I did get a sticker to decorate it. So since then my trusty planner has been with me every step of the way...not nearly as much as Jeff, but it helps out a lot too. That planner holds a lot of our to-dos.

One such item that we're currently working on is a song. We have most everything picked out. We know the mother's song, the processional, and the recessional, but that song that always comes in the middle of the service is the one that is holding the most difficultly picking it out. We want something meaningful, something worshipful, something mindful of our commitment, something short. A little prayer hymn would be perfect...or another hymn type song....or just a verse and chorus of a great little song would fill our needs. So I'm asking for help. Do you have any suggestions? Comment, email: lisaandjeff@elephantshoe.net, or call one of us.

I hope everyone is having a great week. We'll be back to that office tomorrow...and probably a day or so more.

If you want something worshipful, I am a firn believer of Hillsong United. Mama could play this stuff because it is just a simple chorus with a lot of extra stuff on top. "Mighty to Save" is a song about worshiping God! Bethany Dillon has some good ones too! Shane & Shane, also another good artist! Go to itunes girl!
