wonderful week

Our honeymoon week in Savannah was great. We did a lot of walking, touring, and looking at old buildings....and of course Jeff and I took our cameras. We did a several rounds of just walking around taking photos. Monday we did take the trolley tour to learn a little about our surroundings. We ate at this really awesome pizza place called Vinnie Van Go-gos. It's sort of a dive, but the pizza is awesome. We ended up eating there another time as well. Tuesday we started the day in line at Paula Deen's to get a spot for lunch, which we did. That food was good y'all. Jeff had a cow over the mashed potatoes, and I quite enjoyed the gooey butter cake. Wednesday we headed over to Tybee Island. Like both Monday and Tuesday ended, Wednesday started with a drizzly cold rain. We went to the light house and walked along the beach. It cleared up a bit later, and that night we headed out for a walking ghost tour. It was okay...parts were interesting, but we thought it could have been better (see Friday). Thursday was a camera day, as was Friday. Thursday we hit the Mercer-Williams house (where the events of Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil took place, as well as the movie). One of those days, not sure which, we ate at The Pirate's House, which was pretty good, and had some interesting history. Another place to eat in Savannah is Leopold's Ice Cream Parlor. Not sure which day we did that, but it was the best, and there's a lot of movie stuff in there. Friday night we took our favorite tour....a haunted hearse tour. This time the tour was a driven one...in a back of an old hearse. Yes, it had been used quite a bit in the 80s for transporting bodies. They've taken the top up, and added seats in the back. Our tour guide, Nathan, was hilarious. We both highly recommend that one! My sinuses started getting all weird on me Thursday...I think it was the altering weather that caused allergies, which triggered the sinusitis. Anyway, I walked around with a tissue the last few days, and still have one close by.

We got back yesterday. We got to open more gifts, put away some wedding stuff, do laundry, and try to get back to normal. Normal is a little different now...particularly for me...different name, different house. Plus, the last five months at least at one day was spent going here or there, or doing something for the wedding. I'll have time to finally work on some photography work that came in middle of October, and I have the joy of finding some sort of job until (hopefully) the photo work picks back up. I have some stuff already lined up for next year...so yay!

Oh, about the name change. #1...people who normally call me LisaBell...as if it's one word, it's okay to still call me that. Jeff will not get offended. Hey, Bell is now my middle name. I've been called both names forever, so continue if you'd like.
#2...all the paper work to change your name sucks. First you have to get certified copies of the marriage license, then social security card before you can change any of the other stuff....driver's license, voter registration, bank stuff, credit cards, any other accounts, business licenses. Boy, oh boy.

We'll hopefully post some wedding pictures, and honeymoon pictures soon.
