What we did Sunday.

Well, Sunday afternoon we were looking for something to do. I suggested that we get a jumpstart on our registries. We hadn't planned to register until later....I mean there was really no need to do it so soon, but to kill our boredom that's what we decided upon. We'd picked our places that we wanted to register a while back...Target (of course) and Lowes (fun for Jeff). I decided that I wasn't going to register for china since I have both of my grandmother's sets, and one day I'll also have my mom's. Plus, I also collect Jadeite (green milk glass) dishware, among other antique dishes. So there's just not need for me to have any other. Then as we were building the website Jeff thought we needed another place...just so the page looked better. Well, we went down the list...since we weren't getting china and many home things would be registered for at Target, there was no need for a department store. We ended up settling on Williams-Sonoma, simply because they have some nifty kitchen gadgets you don't see everyday. So I went online and made the list a week or so ago.
As for yesterday, we decided to head out to Lowes to get ours started there, only to get there and realize you can only set one up online, which isn't really smart on their part. So many of the things in store can't be found online and vice versa. We then headed over to Target. We got our account set up, and got one of those fun scanning guns, and headed off. We had no strategy. We know that there are certain things we don't need that many couples might. We've both lived on our own for a while....we have toasters, coffee makers, casual dishware, and we're satisfied with all that. There are things that everyone needs from time to time--like towels. Plus, we'll be changing a few decorative things around the house-new pillows, lamps, etc.--just so when I incorporate my stuff in Jeff's house the decor will meld, and the master bath is not complete so there's stuff for that. There are a few household things that we just have yet to purchase on our own. Then of course we had to put some camping stuff on the list. The whole process was fun, but took a little longer than we expected. I think Jeff got a tad bored of the fun gun after a while. We decided to do the Lowes thing when we got home as well, but there are things that we would have like to add but couldn't simply because there are certain things it won't let you add. All in all pretty fun.
